Killer Sudoku

1. The Home screen

When starting the app for the first time, you are presented with this screen after the splash screen:

Fig 1: The opening screen

Trying New Puzzle for the first time get's you this:

Fig 2a: The second screen after selecting "New Puzzle" for the first time, showing some of the free puzzles

As you complete puzzles they are removed from this page.

After you have bought a few puzzle packs with different gradings, you no longer get the screen shown in Fig 2a, but rather one asking you to select which level of puzzle you wish to try:

Fig 2b: Choice of puzzle levels

This then takes you into a screen with the puzzles availble from the level you have chosen.

Fig 2c: Available puzzles of the selected level

Selecting a puzzle from the screens shown in Fig 2a or Fig 2c, takes you into the puzzle itself.

Fig 3: Trying a puzzle

If you are new to the app, I suggest you first visit The puzzle screen and come back to have a look at some of the other options on the home screen later.

Returning to the Home screen shown in Fig. 1 above:

The Resume button

As it says, the resume button takes you into your last unfinished puzzle, providing you have not completed another puzzle in the mean time. In this case, it does nothing.

The Completed button

This button takes you into a list of puzzles which you have completed.

List of completed puzzles

The list of completed puzzles also shows the time taken for a particular puzzle. Tapping on a puzzle takes you back into a puzzle so you can clear it and try it again to improve your time (or just to do a puzzle without paying for more). I have no idea whether or not this influences the average time for the level.

The Stats button

The stats button gives a list of your best and average times for a level.

Statistics of games played

One thing that would have been nice to see here is the number of games played on a particular level.

Get Puzzles

This is where Megafauna make their money. If you want to continue playing, you need to buy puzzle packs. Currently, there are two options: either you buy a puzzle pack from the level you are interested in (99c (US) for 50 puzzles) or you buy a megapack for $4.99 (US) which contains 815 puzzles - 160 of each level plus 15 bonus puzzles (prices on 4 Jan 2019).

Puzzle purchase screen

The megapack is definitely worth the money.

Money is deducted off the credit card you have associated with your Google Play account for any puzzle pack you may purchase.

Help

A few rudimentary help screens. I wrote this note to try and fill in the gaps in these screens.
