Alan's Interesting Bird Observations

Birds

As part of my interest in photography, I developed an interest in birds. Bird photography can be extremely difficult, but very rewarding. Very early on I learnt that the more you know about your subject, the easier it is to know when that photographic opportunity will be available.

With these pages I hope to share some of my more interesting observations.

Please note that I am old school - all bird names used on this site are from the 1984 version of Roberts Birds of Southern Africa. These are the names and species list that Pat and I are comfortable with. A Grey Loerie is still a Grey Loerie to me, not some weird name from NE Africa.
