Killer Sudoku
3. Highlighting Cells
The question mark
There are a couple of very useful extra features available when highlighting cells in this version of Killer Sudoku. When highlighting a cage, you get a question mark to the top right of the selection.
Tapping on this question mark gives a list of number combinations for the CN. This is an alternative to using the notepad button on the bottom of puzzle screen.
The plus sign
The other useful feature is when highlighting a group of cages, you get a plus sign to the top right of the selection.
Tapping on the plus sign changes it into a number which is the sum of all the CNs in the selection.
This is a huge timesaver in trying to solve the puzzle. It lessens the reliance on the calculator (and is less prone to input errors!).
I have managed to highlight non-adjacent cells by accident, but as yet have not found the recipe to do it. Being able to highlight non-adjacent cells is useful for entering pencil marks into pseudo cages.
