Recipes
My go to recipes
Introduction
Over the last 30+ years, I have tried and tested many recipes. Some have worked, some have not. Here, I want to share some of the recipes that have worked for me. I used to have some recipes on Blogspot, but these seem to have disappeared into the ether!
Pat and I have been putting these recipes on Google Keep, but this limits access to the recipes to those with whom I have shared them from Keep. Not all my friends are happy with having to install Keep on their mobile devices (or use it from their Gmail accounts on PCs). It's much easier to share a link from a website.
Pages on this site that may be of interest are Microwave Rice Cookers and the Snappy Chef Induction Cooker. Both pages have recipes included, but the Snappy Chef recipes may be more useful. Most of the recipes shared here were cooked on the induction cooker.
As I am very fond of curries, many of these dishes may be a bit too spicy for some.
I do not like garlic, so you will only find one reference to garlic in these recipes. I always use ginger and coriander when frying onions.
I do not believe in using a blender in my cooking process, so all ingredients are chopped by hand or ground using a mortar and pestle.
I cannot tolerate too much sunflower oil, so use olive oil where possible (and to the "expert" on Youtube that said you cannot use olive oil for curries, I do). Olive oils that work for me are Divella Extra Virgin and PnP's extra virgin home brand. You really don't have to have the oil smoking hot for any dish, including steak.
The ingredient measures given are for two people, so you may have to adjust to your family size (and taste).
I never add salt to food while cooking. Baking recipes may have salt.
And, I really do hate garlic...
