Alan's Musings
Chrome for Android does not play nicely with this website. I do apologise for that, but Google knows what's best for you™.
I used to check the usabilty of websites, but have lost interest in this. Most developers charge you a fortune to build your site, but have no idea how the end user actually perceives the workings of the site. If that user has a problem navigating the site (and hence not finding what he or she was looking for), you could have lost a potential customer.
Along the way, I discovered that I was something of an accidental programmer. Long before the web, I had to solve my own problems. In exploring how things worked, I found myself writing code to actually make them work.
Now I just write about things that may interest me. Other people may find some of it interesting too.

Reviews
When I started this site, it was more as a showcase for my photographs, but these days, I tend to be doing more reviews of products and campgrounds. Please note that I paid for all products and campgrounds reviewed.

About the site
The blogs are the ramblings of an opinionated old man who believes that thinking out loud still matters.
The bowls section was a service that I did for two clubs that I was involved with. I owned and actively maintained the Harlequins website, even after I left the club, but club politics got a bit much for me, so I let the subscription and domain name lapse. I will put up a gallery and other pages, which need no maintenance, for both bowls clubs. Other pages have been updated and moved to this domain.
The pages here are all handcoded CSS and HTML. The menu used here is pure CSS from LINE25. The page layout is loosely based on CSS from Dynamic Drive.
This site does not store cookies, nor use Google's advertising. I have put a link to certain sites in the footer bar of the pages - I receive no remuneration for this.
